Goodbye Maisy

Thank you to all who visited this blog by my dear rat Maisy. Unfortunately she passed away peacefully on 18/06/12 cuddled into Bert. She was a super little rat with a huge personality and will be sadly missed by all who knew her, especially Bert. The pyometra ontop of the lumps just became too much of a burden on her little body.

R.I.P Maisy We will miss you xxxxxx

Getting better

I'm feeling much better and more active now. Still on the horribly disgusting antibiotic, Septrin. Mummy is really spoiling me with all sorts of yummy food.

Mummy told me my Auntie Lorraine was planning to come visit, so I'm really looking forward to seeing her as I haven't seen her in a very long time and almost never got to see her at all. Mummy doesn't know when she is coming yet as she hasn't had a reply from her for a while. I'll be keeping my fingers and toes crossed that it is soon.

Mummy said that she might take us to the beach one day just as a little treat because of what I have been through and we haven't been anywhere for a while. She might be taking us for a run to Dundee in July. I have a lot of living to do but not much time left to do it in. Not to worry there is still life in the old rat yet. My love for Bert keeps me going <3

Not blogged in a while because I've not been feeling too well. I have pyometra and I'm on Septrin, which DOES NOT taste like banana. My lumps are getting bigger and my legs are getting weaker. Mummy is spoiling me with all kinds of yummy food. I've gone off yoghurt as that was all I could eat for about 3 days. I couldn't move very far at all. Experienced a few baths, which was not fun, but I suppose it had to be done and if it hadn't mummy might never have found out I had the pyometra. She thought I was just slowing down due to old age. Hopefully I've still got a fair bit of living left in me yet, but only time will tell.

Until next time . . .

Not Having Much Luck!!

Well, I'm not doing so well at the moment. I have numerous lumps and the ones on my side are getting bigger. I was on Galastop for a month but it didn't help. Mummy has been talking about sending me back in for one more operation probably in May some time and having an implant placed in me called Suprelorin to see if it will prevent any further lumps from appearing.  Mummy has just found a lump on Daisy today too so I think we may both be getting operated on at the same time. You can see the lumps in the above photo (though I still look very pretty) I'm also starting to suffer from something mummy calls HLD, which means my back legs are getting weaker.

Merry Christmas!!!

Well, I'm feeling much better. My fur is groing back and my wounds have pretty much completely healed. My stitches are alsmost all out, they blend in with my fur this time rather than standing out, though the purple was a pretty colour.

The newbies are settling in well and getting cheekier by the day. Mummy has nicknamed them, the Cheeky Girls. They have grew somewhat since they got here, both lengthways and widthways. Mummy thinks they were younger than their previous owner claimed they were. They have also caused way more destruction than I ever did. Not that I'm smug about that or anything :)

Until next time MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! XX

Ouchie!!!

Well it has been about a week and a half since I had my operation to remove 3 lumps, boy did it sting. The cheeky girls (as mummy refers to them) and myself stayed overnight at the vets, It wasn't very exciting as there were no humans and we were shut in the carrier all night. I missed my own bed and the freedom to get up and down when I pleased.

I'm glad to get my jumper off this time, it was more like a polo neck. It felt so nice to have a chew at my stitches. Mummy's face was a picture and it made me wish that I knew how to operate a camera. Mummy got some pictures of me instead.

Newbies

Yesterday we went on a long drive to Berwick Upon Tweed in England to pick up my new friends. Honey and Maisie who is now called Daisy because mummy says there can only be one Maisy and when they made me they broke the mould, what she means by that I don't know. Mummy also says I am probably one of the most well travelled pet rats in the country. I've covered a lot of miles in my short life.

Mummy was not very happy at me the other night because I bit her. Well she did say that her toe had stopped hurting, I thought that was a bad thing so I wanted to fix things for her. I was only trying to be helpful. I also tried to give her a new piercing in her ear as well but that wasn't well received either. I think someone needs to buy me a Ouija Board for Christamas so I can ask Majeeka's advise on how to get this rat behaviour thing correct. Now I'm responsible for teaching 2 newbies, what on earth is my mother thinking. She believes in me. I can only try.
